Guinness World Record’s oldest man Masazo Nonaka dies aged 113

The world’s oldest man Masazo Nonaka has died at the age of 113.

Guinness World Records reports that the world’s oldest man, Masazo Nonaka, has passed away aged 113.

Masazo was born on 25 July 1905 and in April 2018, he was awarded a Guinness World Record for being the world’s oldest living male – aged 112 years 249 days.

Spain’s Francisco Nuñez Olivera who passed away on 29 January 2018 was aged 113 years 47 days.

Masazo, who had five children, six brothers and one sister, said his secret to longevity was hot springs and eating swwets.

Granddaughter Yuko said Masazo died of natural causes. “He didn’t have any health problem, he went peacefully and that’s at least our consolation,” she said.

Masazo passed away at his home in Ashoro, Japan

Guinness World Records is currently searching for the next Oldest person living (male).
