Donald Trump failed to notice Shinzo Abe tumbling in a golf bunker in Japan.

President Trump was hosted by the Japanese Prime Minister at the Kasumigaseki Country Club on Sunday in a game that was closed off to the press.

However, footage from a Japanese TV network sent helicopters over the course, capturing the incident.

In the clip, Mr Abe is seen hitting his ball out of the bunker before trying to climb out. Slipping and falling backwards, the Prime Minister quickly scampers to his feet.

President Trump, who had his back turned to the Prime Minister, seems to fail to notice the incident occurring meters behind him.

The pair were accompanied by Japan’s top professional golfer Hideki Matsuyama. Mr Abe said, “Golf clubs are where we can both relax and share our real feelings, and we took our time having a frank talk about all sorts of difficult topics.”

“I think President Trump enjoyed it very much. I had a very good time, too.”
