The RSC has just released a new trailer for Snow in Midsummer starring Katie Leung.

Snow In Midsummer is Frances Ya-Chu Cowhig’s contemporary re-imagination of Guan Hanquing’s Chinese classic drama. It tells the tale of young widow Dou Yi (Leung) who was framed for a crime she did not commit. Yi returns to the village of New Harmony to seek justice.

The play marks the first production in RSC’s Chinese Classics Translations Project, which aims to bring Chinese classics to a modern western audience.

Leung is joined by Jacqueline Chan, Andrew Koji, Wendy Kweh, Sarah Lam, Andrew Leung, Jonathan Raggett, Richard Rees, Colin Ryan, Lucy Sheen, Kevin Shen and Daniel York.

Giving the internet a sneak peak of Snow In Midsummer as well showcasing the positive response from its audience, the RSC has released a short trailer for the play.

The production is on now at the Swan Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon and will run until 25 March 2017.  For more information and to buy tickets, click here.
