Japanese pop stars Keyakizaka46 have released photos of themselves dressed as Nazis for Halloween.
Whilst the group has not explicitly stated that the costumes were Nazi-inspired, the comparisons shown on Twitter almost make it irrefutable.
Shockingly, Nazi-style outfits are not a new phenomenon for Japanese pop stars. Kishidan, a Japanese pop group, showed up on MTV wearing Nazi-style outfits whilst Koki Tanaka a member of the hugely popular boy band KAT-TUN, dressed up in full Nazi gear in the video for his solo single, ‘Black And White’.
In 2008, a Japanese Idol group declared Adolf Hitler to be a “great person” on network television, inspiring young idols to refer to the Nazi dictator as Uncle Hitler.
